My Name is Suzanne and I'm addicted to sewing.
I've found myself in a season of loving each new pattern that I've been sewn. No, unfortunately, this isn't always the case. My most recent pattern was Blair's Bustled Knot Dress by Create Kids Couture (CKC). CKC has an entire line of breathtaking patterns ranging from infant to women's plus sizes, not to mention outfits for boys, dolls and dogs. I decided to use one of their beautiful patterns to make a patriotic outfit for one of my young friends, Miss C. I was drawn to this beautiful pattern because of the full skirt and the ruffled detail in the back...perfect for a little princess.
Although sewing ruffles are time consuming without a serger, I don't really mind the extra effort when the finished product is so beautiful.
After finishing Miss C's dress, I found out that CKC was having a competition for the best Dolly & Me outfits! I had to make an attempt, so I decided to make the Dolly version of the Blair Dress. I didn't win, but I had fun making the dress and photographing it. The dress is just as beautiful in miniature as it is in Toddler!
Unfortunately, Miss C wasn't available for photos in time for the contest, so I used my other, slightly smaller, young friend for a photo shoot. Both of these little ladies are such a pleasure to sew for and photograph! Miss A loves "cooking" in the kitchen with her mommy, so I thought I would let her "cook" during our photo session and she seemed to love it :)
Here are some of the adorable photos from our time together:
