I love when patterns have multiple options and are a quick sew. The Orbit Skirt by Little Kiwis Closet is one such pattern. This pattern includes 3 hem options, 3 waistband options, and 4 pocket options (one being no pocket).
Another feature that I loved with this pattern was the ability to have fully contrasting bias on the inside or outside of the skirt edge. This just allows for more color and "interest". After all, who doesn't like an unexpected pop of color? Honestly, I can't decide which options are my favorite. I think I'll probably end up making several more just so I can try them all out.
Here is an idea of what the pattern has to offer:
It's designed to be made with woven fabrics such as light denim, pinwale cord, chambray, and quilting cotton.
Perfect for all seasons as it can be worn with or without leggings or tights.
There is also a adult version which was designed in collaboration with me by tinman patterns.
The options included are:
Length
A fully illustrated, easy to understand tutorial is provided for this "beginner" pattern.
I made two variations of this pattern: Same length hem with full elastic waistband and the High Front/Low Back with a flat front waistband. Both had the "Tickle Pocket". As you can see, I sewed the contrasting bias onto the outside of both skirt hems. I intended to sew it to the inside of the green skirt, but forgot until it was already finished (oops). Now to find time to make more of these skirts, using the various options... {sigh}.
