Have you ever seen a pattern and KNEW that it would be perfect? That's what happened when I saw the line drawing of the Pensacola Beach Petal Top by Seaside Notions. I was so excited to get the opportunity to test the pattern for this lovely top. Seaside Notions designer, Nicola, did such a great job on the design for this top. You may have seen her work featured on previous posts (Point Mugu Maxi Skirt in kids and women's). This lovely top pattern is available in sizes 12 months to 12 years and has 3 adorable sleeve options: Sleeveless, Cap Sleeve and Flutter Sleeve. There are also two hemming options; hemmed or trimmed with bias tape. With all of these options, there are so many possibilities!

I had recently acquired this amazing strawberry fabric and decided that it would be perfect for a cute summer top. What was even better was that I found some enchanting trim that would be a perfect accent . . . it reminded me of a twine-wrapped package of strawberries! I don't know about you, but strawberries are the perfect reminder of warm and carefree summer days on the coast. (Okay, I grew up in Oregon, so "warm" wouldn't really describe a summer day at the coast, but you get my gist.) I was assigned the size 18 months for my little 2 1/2 year old model. I was skeptical about the fit, but it was a perfect fit!
Of course, I couldn't stop at just one top, so I had to make a second top for the Little Princess. This one was made with sparkly crowns and sparkly purple trim for the Princess. I made the second one the next size up (size 2T) so that she could possibly layer it for the coming cooler months. All that I can say is that I foresee several more of these tops as she grows up. Her mommy is already requesting a cap-sleeved version.
And guess what? This adorable pattern is available for an introductory price of $5.50 from now through Labor Day! NO CODE NEEDED!
Unfortunately, pictures were on a rainy day, so we had to improvise while getting as much natural light as we could. Here are some more photos of this cute top pattern:

UPDATE:
I made another version of this delightful top for Valentine's Day! Who can resist such cuteness?! Snoopy was just begging to be made into a girly top for the holiday. I used white eyelet for the flutter sleeves and a dramatic black trim to outline the "petals". This is possibly my favorite one yet. One of these days I'll finally get around to making one with the cap sleeve.
